There’s a quiet pressure that comes with the start of a new year—especially one like 2026. You look up and suddenly feel like you should be further along. More accomplished. More consistent. More “ahead.”

If you’re feeling behind right now, I want you to hear this clearly: that feeling doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you’re aware—and awareness is the starting point for real progress.

I made a video recently talking about this exact feeling, not from a place of having everything figured out, but from being right in the middle of it myself. This post expands on that message and breaks down what actually matters if you want to move forward this year.

Feeling Behind Isn’t the Problem — Avoiding Action Is

A lot of people get stuck here. They feel behind, then they freeze. They overthink. They procrastinate. They wait for the “right time” or the perfect plan before taking action.

But here’s the truth:

Feeling behind doesn’t set you back.
Avoiding your goals does.

Momentum doesn’t come from motivation. It comes from movement.

You don’t need clarity to start. You get clarity by starting.

Attacking your goals head-on—especially when you don’t feel ready—is how progress is actually made.

Attack the Goal. Don’t Circle It.

One of the biggest mistakes I see (and one I’ve made myself) is circling goals instead of attacking them.

Circling looks like:

  • Planning endlessly
  • Consuming content without applying it
  • Waiting until life slows down
  • Saying “I’ll start next week”

Attacking looks like:

  • Doing the uncomfortable thing today
  • Showing up before you feel confident
  • Making imperfect progress
  • Taking responsibility for your time

You don’t need more time.
You need decisive action.

Once you commit to attacking the goal instead of delaying it, everything changes.

What I’ve Been Focused on Lately

I want to be transparent here.

Lately, I’ve been putting a lot of energy into community work—showing up where it matters, working with people face-to-face, and staying grounded in real impact. That work is important to me. It keeps me connected and reminds me why I started in the first place.

At the same time, I realized something had to shift.

If I believe in the message I’m sharing—about discipline, consistency, and ownership—then I need to apply it fully to my own platforms too.

That means:

  • Being more present on this blog
  • Showing up consistently on YouTube
  • Creating instead of waiting
  • Building in public, not in silence

Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s easy.
But because it matters.

Procrastination Is a Form of Self-Sabotage

Procrastination often hides behind “being busy.”

But being busy isn’t the same as being intentional.

If you’re constantly saying:

  • “I’ll get to it later”
  • “I just need to get through this week”
  • “Once things settle down…”

You’re not protecting your peace—you’re delaying your progress.

The hard truth is this:
The goals you keep postponing are the ones shaping your future.

Whether it’s fitness, business, content, or personal growth—action today beats intention tomorrow.

Presence Beats Perfection

One commitment I’m making moving forward is this: being present beats being perfect.

I don’t need:

  • Perfect videos
  • Perfect blog posts
  • Perfect timing

I need:

  • Consistency
  • Honesty
  • Effort

Showing up imperfectly builds trust—with yourself and with others.

And trust is what compounds over time.

If You’re Feeling Behind, Do This Today

Not tomorrow. Today.

  1. Pick one goal you’ve been avoiding
  2. Take one direct action toward it
  3. Stop negotiating with yourself

That’s it.

You don’t need a full reset.
You need a single, honest step forward.

Final Thought

2026 isn’t about catching up.
It’s about locking in.

Locking in on:

  • What matters
  • What you control
  • What you’re willing to work for

If you’re feeling behind, don’t run from it. Use it.

Attack your goals head-on.
Show up consistently.
Be present where it counts.

Progress doesn’t ask for perfection—only participation.

Stay Connected

I’ll be sharing more reflections, training insights, and behind-the-scenes work here on the blog and on YouTube. If this message resonated with you, stay locked in and keep moving forward.

You’re not behind—you’re just getting started.
